Summary: Directs and coordinates activities concerned with production of company product(s) by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Confers with management personnel to establish production and quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered. Plans and directs production activities and establishes production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors. Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance, and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment. Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with product specifications, and operating or production problems. Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality. Revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment failure or operating problems. Consults with engineering personnel relative to modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality of products. Coaches and mentors supervisors and hourly members. Forms, runs and completes project teams. Conducts hearings to resolve or effect settlement of grievances and refers unresolved grievances for management union negotiations. Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory
Responsibilities: Manages 4-5 subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 10-25 production employees each. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Must demonstrate the ability to lead and develop supervisors into future leaders and create a culture of growth and development for all team members.

Education and/or
Experience: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred, plus a minimum of 6-8 years of relevant operations management experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment. SQF and HACCP experience required. Demonstrated project management and continuous improvement experience required. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a team to meet and surpass KPI's for the work centers. Previous experience with frozen and non-frozen sauce production a plus.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, SOP's and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Must be able to resolve conflict, lead daily meetings, and participate in monthly town halls meetings.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Learn and practice the 8 Step Problem Solving Method and other Continuous Improvement principles. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
